Surf blind, Learning to see

By December 12, 2013 PeoplePoesia

Winter, sun filled, stillness, low blinding light, smooth green frigid sea, salty skin, wetsuited men laughing, water riding.
A swift blue board glides past me, i smile, yet it seems he can no longer see. Listening to his friend, he rides, free, fearless, feeling, calculating the power and inclination carrying him swiftly shoreward. He surfs, enjoys, jokes.
I, amazed, realize just who it is, that cannot see.
